Dr. Lorrie Gaschen

Dr. Gaschen graduated from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 1990 and went into private practice for two years. After moving to Switzerland she performed a post-doctorate project to describe the echocardiographic findings in a colony of cats affected with Feline Hypertrophic Muscular Dystrophy. She obtained diplomate status in the European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging in 1997 after completing a radiology residency at the University of Bern. She obtained her PhD in 2001 entitled “Ultrasound Imaging of Renal Transplant Models” from reasearch performed at Novartis Pharmaceuticals, Basel, Switzerland. Dr Gaschen‘s special interests are in vascular ultrasound and echoendoscopic imaging and is currently working as a clinical radiologist at the University of Bern Department of Clinical Veterinary Medicine. Here, part of her time is devoted to clinical research investigating gastrointestinal blood flow with Doppler ultrasound in dogs.
